Medical grade microneedling
🧬 What microneedling actually does
The needles create tiny, controlled micro-injuries. This activates the skin’s wound-healing cascade without creating a large wound. The injury signals cells to release growth factors.
Fibroblasts become more active and produce new collagen (particularly type I and III), but also contribute to elastin and other components of the extracellular matrix. The result is improved firmness and resilience.
Microneedling can stimulate angiogenesis — the formation of new small blood vessels during tissue repair. Improved microcirculation can support the healing process and tissue remodelling.
The epidermis responds by increasing cellular turnover and repair. This can contribute to a more even, smoother skin surface.
Microneedling doesn’t simply add collagen. It triggers remodelling of the extracellular matrix — old/damaged matrix is broken down and replaced with newly organised tissue.
Once the epidermis has repaired, studies show changes in barrier-related processes and epidermal organisation. This is one reason appropriate aftercare is so important immediately following
What you put on the skin after really matters which is why I don't recommend doing this at home. We need to clean the skin using appropriate products. Needle depth is chosen according to skin and so is the speed of the needle. The products we use are sterile for the skin.

Beyond the ordinary
Microneedling is not for you if
You must stop using all active skin care the week before and the week after. Please do not use any products that exfoliate, if your unsure please ask me first. I can't guarantee results if your using harsh skin care before and after. It's usually best to have a consultation first as I prefer you to make sure your skin is not inflamed before starting microneedling
